Everything you need to know about BillFlow
BillFlow is a smart bill tracker and cash flow planner that helps you visualize upcoming bills, track payment due dates, manage subscriptions, and project your cash flow. It provides calendar views, payment reminders, and cash flow visualization to help you stay on top of your finances.
Yes! BillFlow stores all your data locally in your browser using IndexedDB. Your bills, payment history, and financial information never leave your device. There are no servers storing your personal financial data, making it completely private and secure.
Yes, BillFlow works completely offline since all data is stored locally in your browser. You can track bills, mark payments, and view your cash flow timeline without an internet connection.
Yes! BillFlow includes a share feature that lets you generate a shareable link with your bill schedule. Anyone with the link can view the bills and mark them as paid. This is perfect for coordinating household bills with partners or roommates.
When adding a bill, you can select the frequency (monthly, biweekly, quarterly, annual, or custom). BillFlow will automatically generate future bill instances for the next 3 months, so you can see all upcoming payments in your calendar and cash flow timeline.
Yes! BillFlow supports browser notifications to remind you of upcoming bills. You can customize reminder timing (3 days before, 1 day before, day of) and enable/disable notifications in the settings.
The Cash Flow Timeline visualizes your projected account balance over the next 30, 60, or 90 days. It shows when bills will decrease your balance and when paychecks will increase it. The "river" visualization uses colors to indicate balance health: green for healthy, amber for getting tight, and red for approaching zero or negative.
Yes! BillFlow supports multiple export formats: CSV for bills and payment history, JSON for complete data backup, and iCalendar (.ics) format so you can import bill due dates into your calendar app.
The Subscription Tracker filters your bills to show only subscription services. It calculates your total monthly and annual subscription spending, highlights annual renewals coming up, and helps you identify subscriptions you might want to cancel.
No! BillFlow is 100% client-side and requires no account creation, login, or authentication. Just open the app and start tracking your bills immediately. All your data stays in your browser.
Yes! BillFlow is fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices. It includes mobile-specific features like swipe gestures to mark bills as paid, a floating action button for quick bill entry, and a bottom navigation bar for easy thumb access.
If you clear your browser data, your BillFlow data will be deleted since it's stored locally. We recommend exporting your data regularly as a backup using the JSON export feature in Settings. You can then import it back if needed.
Cash flow projections are based on your input data (bills, paychecks, and starting balance). The accuracy depends on how complete and up-to-date your bill information is. BillFlow shows you exactly when bills will impact your balance, but it cannot predict unexpected expenses.
Yes! When creating recurring bills, you can adjust the amount for each instance if it varies. The payment history feature also lets you track how utility bills change month-over-month, helping you spot trends and anomalies.
