Monthly bill tracker

The classic twelve-month grid: every bill down the side, every month across, a box for each payment. Filled in from your saved bills, ready to tick on screen, print, or open as a spreadsheet.

Due in month

Monthly total of your bills: about $0. Add or edit bills on the tracker.

Paper, spreadsheet or app: use the one you'll open

A bill tracker template works because it's boring: one glance shows which boxes are still empty. The printable version suits a bill binder or the fridge; the CSV suits anyone who already runs their money in Google Sheets or Excel; the on-screen grid saves ticks alongside the tracker and calendar.

  • Tick when the money leaves, not when you schedule it. That catches autopays that failed.
  • Once a month, compare the grid with your bank statement. An empty box for a bill you thought was on autopay is the early warning.
  • Quarterly and yearly bills only get boxes in the months they're due, so nothing gets forgotten because it wasn't on last month's list.

Questions people ask

Is there a free printable bill tracker?

Yes, this page. Pick the year and press Print: you get a one-page grid with every bill down the side and twelve months across, with a box to tick as each one is paid. Blank rows are included for bills you add by hand.

Can I get a bill tracker spreadsheet?

Press "Download CSV". It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers with one row per bill and one column per month, the amount filled in wherever a payment is due.

What should a monthly bill tracker include?

At minimum: bill name, amount, due date and a paid checkbox for each month. Adding how it is paid (autopay or manual) and the account it comes from makes it much easier to spot a missed payment.

Do the ticks on screen save?

Yes. Ticks are saved in your browser along with your bills, and they are the same "paid" marks you see on the tracker and the bill calendar.
