Annual or monthly? The break-even point
Annual plans are sold as a discount, but you pay for twelve months up front. Set the two prices and how long you realistically keep services like this.

Rule of thumb: if the break-even is past month 9 and you've cancelled similar services before, stay monthly.

- Collect. Go through two months of card and bank statements plus your app-store subscription lists. Add everything here with its next charge date.
- Rank. Look at the "biggest yearly cost first" list. A $12.99 monthly charge is $156 a year; seeing the annual figure changes the decision.
- Ask one question each: did I use this in the last 30 days? If not, cancel or pause it. Most services let you rejoin in a minute.
- Rotate. Keep one or two streaming services at a time and swap when you've finished what you were watching.
- Guard trials. Enter free trials with their conversion date, then send reminders to your phone from the bill calendar.

How do I find all my subscriptions?
Scan the last two to three months of bank and card statements for charges that repeat at the same amount. Also check the subscription pages in the Apple App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), Google Play (Payments & subscriptions) and PayPal (automatic payments), since those can bundle several services under one line. Is an annual plan cheaper than monthly?

How do I remember when a free trial ends?
